Tips

Things people find in year two.

None of this is hidden. It is simply not the first thing you look for.

Five habits worth picking up

Drop a link on the floating window

The floating window accepts dragged links from any browser. It is faster than copying, and it works when clipboard monitoring is switched off.

Queue overnight, then sleep the machine

The scheduler can shut down, sleep or hibernate the computer when the queue empties. Set it once and stop waiting for downloads to finish.

Use a category per project, not per file type

Categories are folders with rules. A category for a project keeps everything about it in one place, which is usually what you actually wanted.

Keep a speed limit for daytime

A limit set slightly below your line speed means a download never makes a video call unusable. The scheduler can lift it at night.

Feed it a list

ida.exe /list urls.txt adds every link in a text file. Useful for mirrors, archives and anything you assembled elsewhere.
