Description
Access to the requested file is forbidden. This may happen if the site owner decided to restrict access to some information on the server. If the web-server from which you download the file has no permissions to read the requested file, it also will return Error 403. This error may be issued in the following cases:
- It is not permitted to read all or some directories without main page (in this case directory listing should be returned);
- The server has limitation on the number of connections from one IP-address;
- The server requires cookies but IDA cannot send them to the server (if you use the browser other than Internet Explorer);
- The server is overloaded.
Advice
Search for alternative links to the file
Use search on MyTopFiles.com.
Add referrer (link)
In the Download Properties window press Advanced button and specify the address of the page on which the link is located in the Link field (at the very bottom). Start download.
Reduce the number of download sections for this file or server
To limit the number of sections in the Download Properties window press the Advanced button and enter 1 in the Limit maximum download sections field. To limit the number of download sections for all downloads from a particular site add this site to the Site Manager and set there the desired limitations. Start download.
URL contains errors
Check the URL. Correct the URL and try to download again.
Try to download later
Possibly the server works unreliably. Try to download the file later.
